Vlier's Press-Fit Plungers Have Many Applications
Eastec 2021: Vlier’s plungers have a knurled design, allowing for easy installation into wood, soft plastic, aluminum or stainless steel materials without the need for a screwdriver or wrench.
Vlier Products’ knurled press-fit plungers, which the company will display at Eastec 2021, booth 5526, have been adopted across the technology, medical, appliances and transportation industries.
This new knurled design reportedly allows for easy installation into materials such as wood, soft plastic, aluminum or stainless steel, without the need for a screwdriver or wrench. The product design automates the assembly process for manufacturers, replacing the time-consuming and expensive effort of installing threaded body plungers.
“While the Vlier knurled press-fit plunger was designed for a single customer, the applications are now almost endless,” says Thomas Foley, Vlier’s general manager. “As new technologies emerge, we’re learning that our plungers are being used in robotic surgery arms, autonomous driving vehicles and communications components to assist in the 5G changeover.”
